MAJOR RULE UPDATE

Dear community,

In the course of the last few weeks, a lot of fruitful response
was collected, some of it was even contributed from users new to
the forum. In long discussions, i want to summarize as shortly as possible
what we have found to be the best proposal for our improved ladder experience:

First, all the implemented changes will be made optional, that means,
all ARRANGED settings are accepted as long as both parties agree to it.

Secondly, todays discussed changes will be given an expiry date of
30 days and EVALUATED afterwards. that means, that you can write a comment
to criticize or praise the new rules in the forum. We have found a
better solution to the third party webpage and therefore it will be discarded
with immediate effect.

RULES UPDATE

WHY

For the distinguished ladder player, a score is only acceptable if it shows
how skilled he is in any kind of situation. Therefore, a sportsman agrees
to play on any map and any position at any fixed time in a duel.
The latter part is rather difficult to reach in a "small" competitive environment,
such as wesnoth, where time zones can decide if you ever meet the player in the lobby.
But for the other points, we have found a solution.

GRRRs ADDON - Maps & p1/p2

I propose grrrs addon (how to get it: start wesnoth, click on Addons,
filter "grrr" and download the competitive gaming addon) to be used for
ladder game setups, where you will play one out of 17 randomly chosen maps,
and be randomly assigned to p1 or p2.
Those maps will be all 11 default 1v1 maps (except Cynsaun Battlefeld) and
there will be 6 new ones:

Astral Port
Elensefar Courtyard
Crescent Lake
Serpent Ford
Unfolding space
Fast to Madness

PS:
Bug
You should be aware however that there is a bug in 1.8 (WML missing child). You cannot rejoin
the game after being kicked because of this error and have to reload it.
In the "reload-the-game-lobby" the host will have to replace the kicked player, as soon as he rejoins,
in the top left corner by "local player" and then switch back again to the players name,
otherwise you cant start the game. As soon as this one is fixed this message will be deleted
